316 Stainless Steel Tables
At Cleanroom World we have 316 stainless steel tables for cleanrooms, labs, manufacturing facilities, and the pharmaceutical industry.
316 stainless steel tables are popular in sterile environments because they’re durable, attractive, and easy to clean. There are three main types of stainless steel tables: grade 430, grade 304, and grade 316 stainless steel tables. Of these stainless steel table options, grade 316 stainless steel tables are the highest quality.
Also known as “A4” stainless steel by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), type 316 stainless steel contains molybdenum. Because of the 2% of molybdenum that’s included in grade 316 stainless steel tables, you can clean them with industrial solvents and harsh chemicals, without risk of pitting. In particular, 316 stainless steel tables are resistant to corrosion from chlorine.
Our large selection of grade 316 stainless steel tables includes:
•C-frame 316 stainless steel tables
•electropolished 316 stainless steel tables
•316 stainless steel tables on wheels
•316 stainless steel tables with fully welded construction
The electropolishing ensures that there aren’t any micro-depressions in the surface of the 316 stainless steel table or micro-projections. This smoothness on the surface of the 316 stainless steel table, as well as the mirror-like finish, make electropolished tables an excellent choice for pharmaceutical and semi-conductor cleanrooms.

316 Stainless Steel Tables: The Best Choice For Cleanrooms, Labs, Manufacturing Facilities, And The Pharmaceutical Industry
When comparing stainless steel tables and other types of furniture and equipment for cleanrooms and labs, people often become confused by the array of choices. Choosing the length, width, height, and features of a table are relatively easy tasks. But what’s the difference between the different types of stainless steel tables, and which one is right for you?
How To Choose The Right Stainless Steel Table
To know which type of stainless steel table would be best, it can be helpful to first carefully evaluate how and where you’ll use the table:
•what type of environment will you be putting the stainless steel table in
•what types of products will come into contact with the stainless steel table and/or be near it
•what types of cleaning solutions will you be using on the stainless steel table
•how durable do you want the stainless steel table to be
•do you need to have a stainless steel table that’s non-magnetic
•do you need the stainless steel table to be electropolished
•do you need the stainless steel table to be fully welded construction
Once you’ve answered the questions above, the type of stainless steel table that you’ll need should become clear.
302 Stainless Steel Tables vs 316 Stainless Steel Tables
Type 302 stainless steel tables and type 316 stainless steel tables are very similar, but the molybdenum found in 316 stainless steel tables makes the tables more resistant to corrosion and pitting. Also, 316 stainless steel has a lower magnetism than 302 stainless steel. Type 302 stainless steel is generally categorized as non-magnetic, but it can become slightly magnetic.
304 Stainless Steel Tables vs 316 Stainless Steel Tables
Type 304 stainless steel tables, like type 316 stainless steel tables are non-magnetic. But 304 stainless steel doesn’t include any molybdenum in it, whereas 316 stainless steel has 2.1% molybdenum in it. The molybdenum in 316 stainless steel tables provides an added protection from corrosion and pitting.
340 Stainless Steel Tables vs 316 Stainless Steel Tables
Type 340 stainless steel has a higher melting point, which makes the tables a good choice for high-temperature environments. But 316 stainless steel has more nickel and molybdenum in it, which makes 316 stainless steel tables more resistant to chemicals and chlorides.
430 Stainless Steel Tables vs 316 Stainless Steel Tables
Type 430 stainless steel tables are less expensive than type 316 stainless steel tables, but they’re not as durable, and they’re magnetic (which means that they can interfere with electronics).
Chrome Tables vs 316 Stainless Steel Tables
Chrome tables are a cost-effective alternative to 316 stainless steel tables, but they’re not suitable for most cleanroom, lab, or pharmaceutical environments, because they won’t stand up to repeated cleanings with harsh chemicals. Chrome also isn’t as durable as stainless steel.
316 Stainless Steel Tables – Fully Welded Construction
We have 316 stainless steel tables that are fully welded construction, versus a knock-down style of table that needs to be bolted together. With 316 stainless steel tables that aren’t all welded, the corner brackets could be made of aluminum steel or 314 stainless steel. If you need an all-welded 316 stainless steel table for your sterile environment, it’s important that you verify that you’re ordering a fully welded table.
316 Stainless Steel Tables – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
Because pharmaceutical manufacturing environments require the highest degree of cleanliness and sterility, fully welded 316 stainless steel tables are often the preferred choice for the pharmaceutical industry.
